The Final Countdown: Preparing for USA!

Whether we're ready for it or not, spring semester is coming to a close! whirlwind of preparation for the fall...it never ends, does it? But luckily, preparing to move to college is a lot more fun and exciting than struggling to finish final projects and studying to pass exams! Whether you're transferring from community college, or fresh out of high school, here's 5 things I always find are a "must" when getting ready for the fall semester (pro tip: you don't have to wait until the summer to start!!):
Summer is now in sight and we're all just barely holding on until we get there. And with the summer comes a

1. Make sure everything is in place!
Okay, so maybe not everything. Nobody's perfect, right? But what I mean by this, is make sure you have any and all forms of paperwork filled out, appointments scheduled and orientation booked. That way, when it does come time for orientation, you glide through and you don't have to worry about scavenging things together last minute. And if you have questions, don't hesitate to ask!!

2.  Get your room ready!
I mean, let's be honest...if you're moving out, it's one of the most exciting parts of college. But make sure you have everything for your room in place! If you haven't already, apply for a residence hall, and then start investing in all the essentials (i.e. bedspread, decorations, shower curtain) and getting to know your potential roommate. Remember, it's important to have a room before you start buying stuff for it. Another pro-tip: actually get to know your roommate beforehand! Even if it's only the basics. It makes moving in and the first week or two of school a lot less awkward.

3. Don't be scared to reach out to future classmates
After all, you'll be spending the next 4 years together. Get a head start on making new friends! Figure out who's in the same major as you, ask if they plan on joining Greek life or honors society or church or literally anything on campus!

4. Prepare questions!!
Whether it's for your future classmates, your teachers, your advisor or even your mom, it's always good to have your questions ready to be asked away! And you don't have to wait until orientation to as them either...I can't tell you how many emails I sent following up to move in day!

5. Gather all the red, white and blue you own!
It's almost here. We're in the final countdown of days until you are officially an official Jag! Honestly, I can't think of anything more exciting. All that's left for you to do is get that Jag pride ready to go!

We can't wait to see you on campus! Good luck and finish the year strong!
See y'all in the fall
